Since graduating from massage school in 2014, Leslie has gained experience from working in various settings, from spa to clinic, hospital, and private practice. Her knowledge base has expanded along with her skills, to include the latest research and modalities.
Leslie’s focus is helping provide relief from chronic pain. She incorporates various techniques from several disciplines in order to provide a custom massage suited for each person’s individual needs.
Her extensive knowledge and experience in trigger point therapy enables her to provide relief from specific types of pain associated with active trigger points. By identifying pain patterns and locating the specific muscles involved, she can help relieve the pain these points cause, which helps the muscles return to normal function.
Leslie is also skilled at oncology massage. Using gentle lymphatic drainage techniques and soothing strokes, she is able to provide relief from the side effects of cancer treatment. Her knowledge of how cancer affects the body guides her touch in bringing much needed respite from the ordeal of having cancer and the treatments designed to help patients survive cancer.
Leslie also provides a safe, nonjudgmental space for burn survivors to relax and have their scars tended to in a gentle manner. Massage has been shown to be beneficial in relieving contractures and the tension of newly formed skin and scar tissue. Her experience comes from her work with survivors at the Shriners Hospital in Sacramento, California.
Leslie has spent 20-plus years working with people who have special needs, including TBI survivors and folks living with autism, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s, cerebral palsy, and developmental disabilities. Leslie believes everyone should have equal access to the calming and healing effects of massage.
